Everyone likes to win awards—even if the baby boomers who doled out participation medals now decry them as the downfall of society. And sure, here at Southtown Chrysler we could talk about all the award-winning vehicles we sell, like the RAM 1500. But today, we want to talk about the 2019 Jeep® Wrangler. Yes, the same Wrangler that won Four Wheeler’s 2019 SUV Of The Year. The very same Wrangler that won Canadian Black Book®’s 2019 Best Retained Value Award in the compact crossover/SUV category, as well as being named one of the top 10 cars with the best resale value, according to Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com. But the award we really want to talk about today, the big one—MotorTrend’s 2019 SUV Of The Year.
What’s So Great About This Award?
As an American automotive magazine, MotorTrend has been around for just shy of 70 years, and currently has a monthly circulation of over one million readers. One of their specialties is in-depth reviews and road testing of vehicles. They drive everything (and put a lot of miles on them while doing it), so if anyone knows how a vehicle stacks up against the competition—it’s MotorTrend. And after putting on some serious miles “road testing” the 2019 Jeep® Wrangler, and we use the term “road” here loosely, they determined there was no other vehicle in its class even close.
Why’d the Wrangler Win?
The praise was effusive for this classic Jeep® model, that the venerable magazine claimed, “is what crossovers want to be when they grow up.” Crediting stellar safety features, off-road capability, excellent value, and great fuel efficiency, MotorTrend deemed the Wrangler an easy choice for SUV Of The Year. But where it really shone was its design, with MotorTrend writers noting, “Rarely do past and future coexist so beautifully . . . Jeep nailed it.”
Of course, you can call all that power, efficiency, and charming style your own. Just give the team at Southtown Chrysler a call, and we’ll set you up for a test drive in this stellar sport utility vehicle. But hurry, because the verdict on the 2019 Jeep® Wrangler is out—and the verdict is, it’s guilty of being the best.
